When you use Verity, we collect:

• Wallet addresses (for authentication and verification)
• Videos you upload (stored securely on our servers)
• Metadata (location, timestamp, device info) - optional
• Usage data (to improve our services)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide video verification services
• Deploy verification data to blockchain
• Improve our platform and services
• Ensure security and prevent fraud

3. Blockchain & Public Data

Only each file's fingerprint (its SHA-256 hash) is stored on-chain, on the Soneium blockchain (older records on Base), which is public and immutable. Metadata such as location stays off-chain. This ensures transparency and verifiability. Your wallet address may be publicly visible on the blockchain.

Before September 2026, an earlier version of Verity recorded a capture's GPS location in the public blockchain transaction for some recordings. That data is permanent and cannot be erased by us, but Verity no longer writes location or device information on-chain, and it shows this information only to the signed-in owner of a recording.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Videos are stored securely, and all blockchain transactions are cryptographically secured.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data
• Delete your account and data
• Opt out of optional data collection (location, etc.)

Note: Blockchain data cannot be deleted once deployed.
